Ubuntu 18.04 goes 64

Hey, I have a i686 though.

Well in the land of overdone installation tries, I first installed the 18.04 beastie 64amd.
I thought it was Not recommended, as it seemed to over-run the fan on my system, so installed the flavours (shown below), then returned back to amd. with dual primaries and a grub that allows: (I found this associated link which thwarted my entire day, back to amd64 https://askubuntu.com/questions/6176/how-do-i-upgrade-from-x86-to-x64-without-losing-settings:

The move away was to ....Lots of tiny Ubuntu's, called lighter versions and flavours:

Xubuntu
Xfce
Ubuntu Studio

After, also finding 9 bad blocks, then 39 bad blocks, which could have to do with the 64 version I initially pushed on the partition. I sent the bad blocks elsewhere, with the e2fsck -c /dev/sda# command. Which either moves the bad blocks into an inode of their own or deletes them. Then, the damaged hard drive is stopped, and cannot further damage files or folders, from those call-throughs.

The 39 blocks will still be there and stated though, via the disk app and its smart view.

Old-age written in again and again, furthers the discussion as to why is it old already? Its only been 8 years or so. Maybe it's a standard sentence given.
I am giving in and going for a laptop tlp, hopefully that will reduce the fan overheating issue.

Not happy with the flavours?

No, They have been a pain to setup, appearances, icons, audio, etc.
All seem to be from older desktop Ubuntu versions around Ubuntu version 10. The use of panels, is a long-time desktop appearances setup.
One neat thing though, is adding in a third or fourth panel on the right-hand side or middle, which can be just a window loader. (Instead of on the top or bottom), it can access windows right though other windows which can make it easier to click around for tired hands. However, my hands are already too tired from the appearance setups;
So I added onto Ubuntu Studio 18.04 with Xfce; an install of Unity, then Ubuntu-session, then gnome-session-flashback.

In the results from the last install, I have a gnome flashback session, sort-of, one that is very similar to the old Ubuntu 17.04. So, I feel like I kind of cheated the forced 64 upgrade, as I have a similar desktop. Which speeds things up again. Learning new desktops all the time deters from what I really wanted to do with the computer that day. So, the Unity add, has really helped out.

Secondly, with the Unity return and then Gnome Flashback,
the Audio has also returned;
to work very easily with the sound controls and I didn't need to install pavucontrol at all.
The external microphone works with 2 choices of digital or analog,(input and output) whereas Ubuntu Studio on its own has about 8 very confusing choices.
I could not get Ubuntu Studio to record from the external and then playback via the headset.
It kept muting out or not recording at all, depending on which pavucontrol configuration choice. Maybe my computer Ubuntu Studio & the pavucontroller just aren't ever getting along.

After a few updates and a dist-upgrade, Unity is an autoremove, and so far the Gnome session flashback has not been an issue and the audio is working, while missing all the depth in my the upper range.
Therefore, I revert back to amd 64 with my i686/i686/i686. Adding in dkms with range hopes. Done by around 3 in the morning.

I'm heading into the land of tlp, hoping for a cool down.
It is 95+ outside 80-85 inside, with a weather that doesn't help the Smart cuss at; my computers Old-Age. As the rumble of the swamp cooler sounds like a constant tumbler, and white foam spews out from its crevices and drips onto the front doorstep; What a house! That I've gotten myself into, outside of this computer machine.

In weird up-all-night dreams of the future;
I remember the dance studios of College Avenue in Berkeley Ca, where I was often a visitor in training. Many of the studios were just regular houses with dance teachers, pianos and piano players. Houses converted into wood-floored rooms, large or small, with a dance or yoga class going. Here in the hot house on this southern border of the United States; the main room could be a small dance studio one day, with a nice high ceiling. The garage could be another dance room conversion. Barres and mirrors, wood floors and marley. Then, this tiny house with high ceilings, even further wants to escalates itself into a mini-concert hall; givings piano concerts with cello and a flute.

Ok, so i errored in attempting to remove the wine config from linux - ubuntu.

ran the $ to close to home and lost all my files there.

usb's ran rampant as 0 and showing as empty ... no files,

other partitions in disbelief errupted from my file save panics
and i errored again, losing data.


losing data from moving other saved areas, tar.gz and rearranging.

The retaliation of the event, the mind sweeps to ---
they are only files,
photos of your animals,  and plants---
and spreadsheets of production confidence sent to the internet.

relax, remember it all another way.  that works for a while,
but then i remember all the places... all the work involved in the gathering,
the dogs and several others are since gone,
and those photographic moments are 'not like this'.

The retrieve:
The retrieve was not easy,
scalpels and test disk ...extun? and foremost,
all installed...
all finding problems of files with no names,
no categories..............
and no space left to write to.

scalpel:
a few image corruptions existed, 
the scalpel called the files to size exact as chosen for all,
so, in that configuration, 
do not bother with images unless you want them all 976 Kb each
and bound into a conformed height and width. ...
and the listing of 3000:9000 numeration version brings, 0-2999 only.

w/ excel: The scalpel did save my bizarre excel .xls' files though
but after attempts I found out that my xls signature header and tail
was not the same as other standard configs, on kesslers or 'ys? list.

I have since lost the correct one that i found though, 
so i cant give it out.  ..........it did have many of the x00's. 
(the x in front is for the program) the 00 is the signature type.

testdisk ... using the photorec command:
it works when you find the file options inclusion, 
and edit to only the specific files you want, 
as the normal data recovery  'Carver' haul ...
tries to take too many files, and there is no way you can
save all those files unless you have a doubler hard drive space available. 

too many thumbnails and cache images included, 
and their html retrieve takes everything including txt's to perl scripts
therefore, it's not going directly for htm or html only, which is "tedious".
Some grep and find commands can help determine 
the filenames w/html, 
however any and all caches held from browsers are there also. 
So, do not get excited on winning this event quickly.

I believe the unallocated free space choice is free available space used before, and the whole space choice includes what is currently there
(viewable via a folder) also.


I confess to overcarving, accepting too many images, lg sm or thumbnail.
That mistake is the worst one as it tediates the new category creation process.
It does feel never-ending.

no, but the often web calls ntsomething pretty much everywhere...
as the data carver special.

casual acquaintances learned:

chown yourusername:yourusername dir_holding_dirs_w_files*/*
to own file moves easier.
and chmod variations were preferring 740.
don't panic.

file storage learns:
try to never store files on your current working partition., with officeware etc.
only store them on a data-only partition that needs a separate os install also.
as the other way to grip-it to a space-only format seems to overhaul the harddrive and fan.

meeting now 50% lmsensors, i may install 12.04, somewhere.
I am tired- the upgrades on the carver partition (out of 11.04) failed.,
into a graphics window with no root shell applet or
root application access provided.
and the net root access via the grub-front root prompt sucks for me.

I did also find the other grub screen once during this phase,
that scary screen--- the screen with grubs little cutie commands only,
to boot the system from nowhere, or face no more computer.

that is an additional heart drop location.
2 install cds did not respond anymore,
and luckily a third decided to play.

If grub (grubpc grub common grb grub lega.)
is double installed on various partitions, does it prank-out the other?
It's all a guess. init images end up locked and the internet locks out also.

I kinda hate this as,

up to the 12.04 -- 
i did get there once during, via rare dictatives on offer, however, 
without the root shell terminal to install aptitude or synaptic or 
gnome classic basic it is fricken impossible for me to use. 
(it was as an atm-only, without a calculator).
so i reinstalled 11.04 again to hear the fans re-roar.
The fan noise only began since the $ was used from 
a cut and paste command i found on the net 
to remove the god-for-saken wine program.

back to the tried out 12.04 from prompt upgrades, 
it was missing more than 1/2 of the standard use applets, 
synaptic panels etc. , pretty much an empty upgrade shock into silence.

So for me... from 11.04, 
they "ubuntuans" require a fresh cd disk to re-order that partition,  
(my netbootin-fun install was sadly refused. 
even w/ the usb bios-into-grub active.)

causing a re-data wipeout of what is there, to really upgrade.
now the newly old found carved images
have to move again elsewhere.

They have been overdoing a 'ubuntu madness syndrome' into upgrades
for everyone linux and devolving access of repository access for lower versions, as the olde prompt commands deny upgrades.

The forced mandate of "now" or else is way too groupie into borg, 
as to be a pathetic throw into the future, 
only one of agony and defeatism. 
rather than a workability refining 
the current substrate of convictions spent.

as an update joke, 
back to before, the bloodline trust blog, 
i determined that the bloodline group each
has a maximum of 300 persons per gg grandparent couple, (150 adults)
80 houses each:
40 lived-in and fully owned by relatives 
and the other 40 are rented to total strangers. 
those 40 can be rented out to the trust recipiants, 
and perhaps beautiful gardens grow, 
as the trust recipient renters would buy trees and plants.
Endorsing cottage gardens for butterflies and other insects, 
requiring a variation of flowering specimens.

80 houses x 16 (8 marriages)= 1280 houses w/640 to rent.
tough to coordinate online,  all 1280 at once,
because cousins have 8 different gg-grandparents.
the 80 houses per gg-grandparent group 
is viable enough to keep within a trust corporation though.

Privacy:
So as not interview w/relatives. 
perhaps a mail-in dna test entry into the trust.
and rental forums w/trust action decisions held online, 
to maintain separation and privacy,

Guess I'll write a blog tonight, slightly unhappy after 5 days of a driver install/wicd/networkmanager/grub~grubpc/gnome classic/gnome3install-removals/conf updates,
pretty much too much, (ubuntu 11.04).  when I only started out trying to ethernet
on my little 4 yr-told laptop, losing wireless,
matching the driver to the correct broadcom on the network controller,
looks a success, in commands, such as lshw, the new version shows,
yet now wireless uploading is slow to non-triumpant w/youtube.

After all this, I can't really be angry at ubuntu or others, as its all freely-distributable,
and new driver kernel need was not a normal install, hardware related,

Broadcom 5700 to 5906 (118k or something) seems more like a market correction,
which fatalizes this process into another greedy update.

I was also hoping linux would be less constructive in gaining necessary parts
to receive network access. Probably a combo machine/'os' specific to the packages would suffice the less learned public, complete with maintainers, but then how could that be free?....unless the new world government is activated, it won't ever be an option, as this process is too hard on the obeyant populous. 

Thanks to the forum users, that contribute though as I think something was gained by this experience. Like the additional inclusion of high-ranking forum experts w/yahoo, merged into making more government decisions (in their field of knowledge) if they want to be work-paid oriented there.

Installed again 10.04  from  ubuntu.com
3 partitions later I am completely fried as I removed all references to "that name" in the ubuntu studio sound files, but the ubuntu studio products then ledged thru the other partitions to destroy my other sound setups.

The gnomes are in the house man, I can't take this anymore.


So I will in this next moment reinstall #11, and hope a 4th partition
isn't also on request as there is no more room on my little computer.

But on the good side of this I can take photos and upload them here whilst entertaining those monkeys.

Plz don't say, you only needed one more app.

Up the Downgrade to the Ubunies 2

Alright, so be it,

I'm wrecked by this experience today and kinda don't understand why, this system is hard put to allow an at the ready video cApTuRe device.

Paranoid 20 yr olds running this system more than anyone else,
as stated on os stats,
so, it looks like they like to play around with being that age again
as the icons are desperately huge.

I did find an add a panel from the installation section, but I think that was after re-installing the gnome engines.(Then those allow add an icon to our gamora.)

A graphed-out version studio is available via thier source gatherings,
however the apps are not necessary for my overdrama-ed vlogger self.

The flash(adobe) is also kaput and my switch from wmv is a huge conversion edit mistake that has entered my recent days into "where are the video editor conversion tools". Running via a 30-day windows was hell that I personally cannot ever re-enter into, so I have to learn how to "Vlog" at the "Command Prompt", what a hell for my human.

"Don't complain its free-ware, open source," years and years of contribution to the sanctity of future os systems.

Either way grab the narwahl os for your future discussions and possible usages.
? though does it really save the whales or does it merely program them deeper into a restricted channel of office work..

Up the Downgrade to the Ubunies

Alright in truth, I have over stepped my root-anything capacity of the text-based command prompt and have had to install and re-install not once but 4 times in the last week or so the linyexia OS, Ubuntu.

In the newest release I have had the distinct honor of visiting a desktop mimicking a mcdonalds drive-thru screen, ~place your new window applications order~ without any way of changing the static ATM interface (unless...).

Surely a super-hero has already done it,
change the sidebar hold-all-applications-frame,
but it does relish into my mind that yes,
mr and ms puppet we are entering the finished product.
A product so finished that creativity will be within an
even smaller directed channel of  relegated energy.

In a critique short and enduring, it's not fun anymore.
I need to be able to move those silly desktop icons around.
It is a theft of my creative person and a negligence on the
"lets make it easier people" of the os.  

A small upgrade process has actually proven the true spirit of a downgrade toward our thinking power.  (also, way too much office templatry incurred.)
I guess its up to the now humans to invest energy into the stoppage of this type of future and re-direct the os toward graphics such as mr adobe-gimp, video, recording (w/ a no sound effect entrance) or help with something that captures video other than cheese.
No offense mr cheese but one video capture product that for sure works is not good enough, the others are fickle in setup, and the cheese writer must be losing his/mind as to "why do they only want cheese? I thought this os was for bunnies."

What a drag in a way to not even have that capacity,
perhaps homophobia reigns here.

Guess I'm a usr, but definately hoping a customizer-app for the desktop will return again.

I know countless things in this life we must accomplish, how mundane, how trivial in my particular energy to embark on os speak at all,
but I guess it tells yet again the story of ,,,
the story that we have always to fight our negligence in needing it easier.
